Engagement and connection through the arts can improve quality of life through increased self-esteem and build a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
We are fortunate to have Anne Basting, one of the world’s leading experts on Creative Engagement, in our community. Basting is a MacArthur Genius Grant recipient, Professor of Theatre at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and founder and President of TimeSlips. She has pioneered a radical change in how we interact with older loved ones, especially those experiencing dementia, and has introduced a proven method that uses the creative arts to bring light and joy to the lives of elders.
Sarah Freimuth, an MSW Care Manager at Stowell, is a Creative Engagement Specialist who trained with Anne Basting. Sarah is available to meet virtually with clients and their families to develop a personalized program to enhance an old talent, develop a new talent or hobby, and encourage new opportunities. If you are interested in learning more about Stowell’s Creative Engagement Program and how it can help your loved one, I encourage you to contact us.
