Sanitizing Groceries at Home

There are differing thoughts about the need to sanitize groceries and other store items as they come into your home. While there are some reports that the risk of infection from these items is low, there is no official guidance from the CDC. Therefore, we still recommend that items be wiped down upon entering your home. Please watch this video from Jennifer Teglia, a Stowell RN Care Manager, on the precautions she takes in her home.

Perhaps more important is to continue practicing the following precautions while shopping: avoid crowds, give people space, sanitize carts, and wash your hands.
