Dear Stowell Associates Clients and Families,

The health and wellness of our clients and team members has always been, and will continue to be, our highest priority. We are closely following developments and recommendations by the CDC. As you are aware, Governor Evers declared a Public Health Emergency yesterday and called upon individuals in Wisconsin to work aggressively to slow the spread of COVID-19.

We continue to educate our caregivers about the symptoms of COVID-19 and about the importance of practicing standard precautions and staying home when sick.

For the safety of the client and caregiver, caregivers have been instructed to contact our office if they are experiencing any cold-like symptoms so that a replacement caregiver can be arranged. We have had little to no incident reported to date, but we are actively in communication and monitoring.

In addition to following CDC guidelines and local guidelines, we have also engaged a physician to consult with as we navigate ever-changing COVID-19 recommendations.

According to the CDC, those at higher risk of becoming very sick from this illness include:

  • Older adults
  • People who have serious chronic medical conditions like:
    • Heart disease
    • Diabetes
    • Lung disease

In order to protect those most vulnerable, we are recommending that non-essential medical appointments and social outings be avoided or canceled for the duration of March. We recognize that there may be special circumstances, yet our overall recommendation is to postpone outings that can be postponed, particularly if they involve crowds. Please see the link below to the CDC’s information about individuals at high risk.

We will continue to monitor COVID-19 outbreaks and adjust our plans as indicated.

Thank you,

Pam Preston
