A valuable resource for Milwaukee dementia patients, their families, and their caregivers

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. While this is always an important topic to talk about, it is even more so these days as many of us battle with the stress, loneliness, and other negative emotions resulting from our current situation. Throughout the month, we will be sharing information on this topic we hope you will find helpful.

Today, we would like to make you aware of the services offered by the Alzheimer’s Association’s Wisconsin Chapter. They are a valuable resource to our community, providing trusted information, supportive services for families, educational opportunities, and more. Currently, on their website (https://www.alz.org/wi), you will find:

  • May 2020 Virtual Educational Programs – A range of online classes including Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body, Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behavior.
  • Wisconsin Virtual Support Groups – Online support groups for General Family Caregivers, Persons Living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Family Caregivers for a Loved One with Dementia, and more.
  • Care and Support virtual services flyer – A listing of available support services available.
  • Coronavirus (COVID-19): Tips for Caregivers – Useful information on caring for individuals living with dementia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As always, Stowell is here to help if you need us. Please let us know how we can make this time easier for you by calling 414-963-2600 or emailing [email protected].
